Back story…
The school that my kids attend is called Franklin Phonetic Primary School. The principles are Mr. and Mrs. Franklin. Their school puts great emphasis on the arts and entertainment aspect of learning. Children can join before and after school band, drama, choir, science club, art classes, chess club…and many more I can’t think of.
Last year they expanded their small auditorium to a nice big auditorium so they could accomodate the large crowds for the drama, band and choir performances. In the past they had to have performances during school and a couple night performances to allow everyone to see the shows.
The Auditorium is call The Albert O. Davis Auditorium. Up until last night I had no idea why it was called that. :/ I never bothered to find out. So last night while announcing the show. Mrs. Burkitt, drama teacher, mentioned that the play “Plenty of Money” was written by Albert O. Davis. Who is Mrs. Franklin’s father AND she played Grandma Maude when she was in 7th Grade. I thought that was cool bit of information.
This is Mrs. Burkitt, left and Mrs. Franklin, right.

And the program…

The Disclaimer at the bottom of this page cracked me up.
I know guns are an important issue in this day and age and are to be taken seriously but I couldn’t help but laugh.
Oh and since the summary of the play is on here also I luckily don’t have to do that! HAHA! So if you want to know what it is about…read on.
The play was a success! The kids all did an awesome job! They only had about 2 months to prepare for the play! Mrs. Burkitt mentioned that if we had all seen their rehearsal on Monday they would have never thought it would come together just 3 days later! Just as the program says it was very funny! There was a moment in the play where the FBI Agents run out in front of the curtain while the scenery was changed and there was obviously something not going as planned and the young actors did a great job of maintaining their character and I think that made it even more funny watching them try to cover up the break in the story. The show must go on!!
The boy on the left is Corbin’s good friend Duncan…He played the bank manager. And he has quite a talent for acting!

I had to laugh during all the bank scenes…there were four “customers” at the bank. And they just rotated in the line. It cracked me up!

The FBI Agents were too cool for school! I loved all their suits and trench coats and aviator glasses! They looked the part for sure!
Corbin forgot his jacket in the first scene he came out. But I love this pic of him and the other “Gang” members singing. It was cute! And the boys sang great!
*I wish the whole play had had this great lighting! HAHA!

Grandma Maude! I think she was by far, everyone’s favorite character! She was so funny and sweet and such a crack up!
And her rag tag group of money laundering, world saving grannies and grampies…they all looked great!

And what play is complete without a singing quartet!

And of course the Hooligans! Horace, Spike, Killer and Knuckles.
*The original Knuckles moved just a week before the play and everyone was quite sad about that.
This girl, though, did and awesome job! She had the perfect attitude! I am sure she had been the understudy all along so she had been practicing the part. But for just a week to take on the part completely she was awesome!

Grandma Maude tipped off the FBI with one of her “originals”. Nicely wrapped and ready to go…

So the bad guys were caught in the end and my son was hauled off in handcuffs! HAHA! While they sang about it all being their parent’s fault they ended up the way they did. lol…
*Corbin’s oh so cool…lol…jacket was a nice after Halloween Sale I found! I was lost on where I was going to find a leather jacket for him. It’s hard to see but it has bones showing through on the front…this FREAKED OUT! Seth, Sage and Ashlyn…they didn’t want to look it cuz it was GROSS! LOL!

I have sooooooo many pictures from the night so I will be posting them in a gallery later today after I go through them all. I will post a link to them later.
THX for stopping by!
