A Very Anne Shirley Christmas…that’s Anne with an E! December 29, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 7:20 pm

Ok lame title…but I couldn’t think. :)

So the only thing I wanted for Christmas was The Anne of Green Gables Books! The shipping ended up being very slow so they weren’t here for Christmas but they came today! I am really excited to read them! I have always loved the movies so I don’t know why I never read the books before!

Sooooooooo…I may not blog for a few days while I read them! HAHA!

Have a Happy New Year everyone!! :)

He Ain’t The Leavin’ Kind ~ Rascal Flatts December 29, 2008

Filed under: Music, Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 6:57 pm

Tonight as Chaz and I were making dinner…yes he cooks!…and much better than me…HAAA!

Anyway…I had my music going and just as I skipped a song he says, “I haven’t heard Rascal Flatts in a long time.” I looked at the ipod as he said that and saw that it was a Rascal Flatts! Crazy coinkydink! Anyway so we listened to RF while we finished dinner, taking turns picking the song.

Rascal Flatts is definitely one of my all time faves! So I decided to share one of theirs today!

The Polar Express! December 24, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 11:51 pm

Seth has wanted a train set for the last few years…This year he specifically asked for a Polar Express Train…So I looked on the net and found them…200-250 bucks! :/ I felt bad but that just wasn’t goint o happen.

So we were shopping at Target and Chaz said hey…and pointed at a shelf and there it was…a Polar Express Train Set! And it was much much cheaper than online! So regardless of how much we had planned on spending on Christmas…that budget just went up a bit. heh… I almost cried when we bought it because I knew how much Seth had wanted it!

Christmas morning is going to be so great!

Christmas Eve… December 24, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 10:18 pm

I love staying home for Christmas…but at the same time I wish we were “home”…I miss going to the Christmas Eve Family Party and Christmas Breakfast and Christmas Dinner.

Today the kids opened the traditional Christmas Eve Present! I persuaded them to open their gift from Papa and Grandma, knowing it was pajamas…of course that isn’t exciting to them but that way they get to sleep in them and have cute new pj’s in the morning. :)

We also put together a family Gingerbread house! I had bought two kits, one for the girls and one for the boys. Chaz had the great idea to make one house out of the two and it turned out AWESOME! Chaz built the house…the kids decorated it…and I snowed on it! :) Chaz also put together the little garden on the side.

I also had the kids pose for me with the Christmas Tree…and Charlie joined in too! :)

And before the kids all headed off to bed we made brownies for Santa and set them out.

Well…that’s it for now! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! And have a safe and Happy NEW YEAR!

Walk You Home ~ Karmina December 23, 2008

Chaz and I watch entirely too much tv…I know…BAD.

This year we started watching a show called The Cleaner. I think it is on A&E. It’s about a former drug addict who helps people get their loved ones off drugs. Well it’s a good show but what makes it even better is it always has great music on it! So as soon as we heard this song we both loved it! And you will notice is it my #2 most played song in iTunes. :)

Listen, I think you will enjoy it!

25 Most Played on iTunes… December 21, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 9:18 pm

As requested by Lori… Here are my top played songs.

I’m not sure when the count started but it ad to have been recently..well in the last month anyway. As you can see I have listened to the Twilight Soundtrack a lot. And I only bought it a month ago. And as you can also see I listen to Colbie and Leona a lot too… I really do listen to more than is on this list. I really don’t think it is accurate, to tell the truth. The top 5 are but beyond that I am not so sure.

So there it it! Exciting, no?! No…haha!

Baking!? December 18, 2008

Straight out of the box…LOL! That’s about as good as I get. I am terrible in the kitchen! You can always count on me to burn myself when using the oven…or burn my cookies or leave the oven on for hours after I am done. I really should just stay out of it. :)

So the kids have Christmas parties tomorrow so I signed up to take treats. So I made brownies! And they look really good too! And they weren’t burnt! HAHA!

Well they were a cookie bar brownie or something like that. They look really yummy! But I get none…heh…

Valley of Lights December 16, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 3:36 pm

Each year we head down to Fain Park to drive through the Valley of lights. It’s fun for everyone! It doesn’t change much from year to year but the kids always enjoy seeing it. Each piece of the light show is sponsored by local businesses, churches and such. If I remember right they added The 12 Days of Christmas this year…or maybe last year. :)

It’s kind of hard to get pics of the lights because you drive through it and ppl get impatient…I have never understood that, the point is to enjoy the lights not fly through them. But I took lots of pics! :)

CLICK RIGHT HERE TO SEE! :)

I didn’t like the slideshow I had on here before… :/

Ward Christmas Fiesta… December 16, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 1:14 pm

I got a call earlier in the week…(last week)…and was asked to take pics of the Ward Siesta.**

“Hi, Brandy. I was wondering if you would like to take pics of the ward party Saturday? We are having a Mexican Siesta(**I truly believe she meant Fiesta…because I don’t usually sleep at parties. But hey I am always up for something new!) And I notice you ALWAYS have your camera taking pics at ward activities”

“Sure, I’d love to take pics!” (I would have whether they had asked or not. :) That’s just me!

It was a lot of fun! As we walked into the church the lights were down and the halls were lined with Luminaries…it reminded me so much of home and seeing them lit down Main St.in front of Uncle Joe and Aunt Karen’s and lighting them around dad’s grave site.

They had live Mariachi, Wonderful Mexican dishes, chips and salsa, fun story telling and what Fiesta would be complete without Piñata! They had one for the little kids, one for the girls and one for the boys.IMG_5707

Sage crashed right after dinner so she missed out on the stories and piñata…

Enchiladas and Taco Salad…at least I think that’s what it was. :)

Two hour delay… December 16, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brandy Young @ 9:28 am

We live in Prescott Valley and our kids go to a charter school. For some reason or another they follow the Prescott School District schedule instead of the Dewey-Humbolt School District, which is what district they are actually in. So we also follow their snow delays and snow days. This has always made me laugh…while Prescott may have gotten a nice amount of snow that warrants a delay, Prescott Valley may have gotten some rain.

So this morning I was running late. I got out of the shower at 7:30…normally the kids are out of bed closer to 7…so I was prodding them along to get ready and making lunches and Corbin tells me we should listen to the radio “just in case”. So I oblige…thinking no way, we gotta get going right away….by now it is 8 and it’s a 10+ drive to school and they go in at 8:25…and not everyone is ready and it always take at least 10 minutes just to load into the van. When I hear on the radio…Prescott School District is on a 2 hour delay…

This is some truly dangerous weather we have to deal with! We wouldn’t want to be taking our kids to school in this rain! LOL!

YIPPEEE! I am immediately bombarded with…”Mom can I play computer?” “Mom can I play  GameCube!?”…”Mom can I watch TV?”…To which I answer…”Go enjoy each others company.” LOL!

A plus to all of this…well it gave me time to get all of our out grown clothes together to take to the school for donations…and time to write this post! :)

Shoes fill up the box on the left…girls clothes in the bags on top and boys clothes in the big blue tub…I suddenly feel a huge weight lifted…LOL… :) Our guest room is finally starting to clear out(we don’t get many guests). And we have a LOT less junk around the house. (but still way too much, heh)
