Just a little peeved… February 28, 2009

So…I took my roll of film into WalMart(first mistake)…and made sure I told the one hour photo dude(second mistake)…that it was likely to be a crappy roll. BUT that I didn’t care and I wanted the pics anyway.

I go back to pick them up and genius a.k.a. one hour photo dude tells me that he “couldn’t make any out”…urg…

Ok…I knew they wouldn’t be good. AND I TOLD him that! And I said I didn’t care! And if you look at the negatives you can clearly see where the exposures were made…and although they look blurry, I can the see the couple that I took of Ashlyn and Seth. So how could this genius not see that? And in another I can see trees and buildings in another…so…what am I missing here?!

Anyway…sorry…I had to rant.

Act like you like each other! February 27, 2009

I love to say that to people when I take pics of them, my kids are no exception!

So…I say “Act like you like each other!” And of course Corbin immediately grabs Seth in a death grip of a hug…and Seth looks like he fears for his life! LOL!

I was terribly slow in getting their uniforms put together but decided to get my rear in gear and get them all decked out. Seth is still missing his council patch. But today he got to add his Bobcat patch! He and Corbin both received their ice skating belt buckles too! Corbin also received his Geography belt loop that he earned last summer, they forgot to pass them out back then.

 

Ashlyn’s eye… February 27, 2009

She did not want me blogging her eye…she didn’t want everyone seeing it. It looks horrible!

I am taking her to her doctor today, I did not care for the Urgent Care doctor…or his diagnosis.

It’s hard to see in this pic but there is a small bump close to her iris.

Pinhole camera… February 27, 2009

Easier said than done. heh…

So it’s finished…and it was a pain! I was up ‘til 2:30! oops…and it doesn’t work to great. The film holder isn’t quite big enough so the film is hard to advance. And I am sure, with my lack of film knowledge, the pics are all going to be pretty suckish…but it is fun! lol

I took a small drive after dropping the boys off at school and took some pics. I’ll just have to cross my fingers and hope at least one or two turn out. I will have to tell the lab to just overlook the crap and just develop it anyway! LOL!

So here’s my little pinhole camera! I should have printed it on card stock but either way I don’t see it holding up for very long. Luckily the film holder is much more sturdy so I can make a new housing any time if I want to.

It’s already losing it’s shape from me advancing the film. But it’s still cute and the kids think it’s really cool!

Off to Urgent Care… February 26, 2009

Ashlyn has had a cough for several days and yesterday her eye started getting red and I noticed a bump on it. So we went to Urgent Care, since we couldn’t get into her regular doctor.

She has had strange allergic reactions to things over the years.…we have never figured out what causes them…and this current illness is apparently an allergy also.

She was a very good little patient…and said she likes the doctor’s office as long as she doesn’t get shots. lol.

Not much happening around here… February 26, 2009

It’s been pretty boring around here the last couple weeks…not a whole lot going on.

But this weekend will be quite a bit more exciting!

Tomorrow night we have the Blue & Gold Banquet, Chaz’s parents are coming later the same night. Saturday evening we will throw Sage a small birthday party(a little early since we will have visitors!) and then Sunday night Chaz’s parents are taking us to a Bill Engvall Show! So there will be lots to blog about after the weekend!

A man found a roll of film in an old Nikon at a thrift shop and eventually had it developed…

That one roll of film turned into an interesting hobby! He searches any place that has old cameras and buys the film from the camera. The site is filled with tons of pics he has found over the years.

Fly to Your Heart… February 24, 2009

My girls love watching Tinkerbell! And they LOVE the song at the end…Ashlyn pulls the bench in from the dining room and dances along with the video of Selena Gomez singing “Fly to Your Heart”. It’s funny to watch Ashlyn and Sage dance around and jump off the bench like they are the ones in the video…even if the song gets really old after the 10th or 20th time! lol…
