The Young's

A little bit of our lives…

Hmm…wanna play catch up!?

That’s what I do best I think! So the last time we talked Corbin had just had his birthday…That was only 2+ months ago!

A lot has happened since then so let’s get this all down!

Seth had his 10th birthday in November. He had a small party with a couple friends. That’s the way we like to keep it! Small and simple! I don’t know how we managed it but he never blew out the candles…oops. But his whole class sang Happy Birthday to him so that makes up for it?! Right!?

Oh my…I am behind…

:::PLEASE STAND BY…THIS BLOG IS BEING UPDATED!!:::

12?!?!?!?

Yikes…Corbin turned 12 on Thursday! So crazy!
He’s such a great kid. I love how innocent to the world he still is. And I love that he still wanted a Webkinz for his birthday. Even though I know he’s too old for them I am fine with him wanting to hang on to being a kid and not being too grown up like some of the kids you see these days.
He had a small party with his two best friends.

They had a great time playing games and tormenting each other. I took them to exchange some duplicate gifts last night and it was funny to sit and listen to them as we drove.

Thursday evening he opened his presents from us…He was pretty happy with them. 🙂
I just wanted one good pic of all the kids together…famous last words… it never works out lol!

While Grandma and Papa were here we had pie for Corbin’s b-day so last night I just bought cupcakes. I thought it would be fun to put all the crazy candles in one cupcake! It looked crazy but so cool!

Always a busy October…

And we aren’t even done yet!

October is our busiest month…my birthday, our anniversary, Corbin’s b-day…and Halloween. Throw in a parade for Ashlyn, a Harvest Festival at school, visiting with Chaz’s sister, Chaz’s parents coming to visit last weekend, a sleep over, a few Halloween activities next weekend…and I will be happy to see October behind me!

Sooooo…here’s a peek at what we’ve done so far. 🙂

On my birthday Ashlyn had a parade in Dewey. She is in Twirling and they walked in the parade. It was pretty much the lamest parade I have ever been in. (I walked with the Twirlers) But it was good practice for the girls. They will be in a Christmas parade in Prescott soon! Ashlyn was really nervous and was so hard on herself when she messed up. But I thought she and all the other girls did great!

Waiting in line for the parade to start…

The Franklin Cheerleaders…they could be cheering for RVHS! lol…

Random dude dressed like a Native American Chief…I thought he looked cool. 🙂

Ashlyn and her friend McKayla…

The Truly Nolen Bug! And Mini Bug!

More waiting…in ready position…

Twirling, walking and staying in lie proves to be somewhat hard…lol…they still did awesome!

Later that night we went up to Lower Wolf Creek Campground to visit with Elizabeth and Jimmy. We just went up for a couple hours. The kids had a blast and really wanted to stay and camp but we weren’t prepared for that. So they made S’mores…and played with Jimmy’s kids and had a good time!

The sunset and crescent moon looked awesome on the way up there.

Gotta make s’mores!

Keeping warm…without jackets… They quickly put them on though! When we left it was around 45* out there…they were in for a cold night! I hope they kept warm!

Playing DS around the campfire…nice…lol!

Fire is cool! 🙂

A couple weeks ago…

The kids had their end of summer Primary water fun party…They had lots of fun soaking each other and playing games. They also enjoyed a couple of otter pops! And the best part of the day was the firetruck!

It's the end of the world as we know it…

And I feel fine…

Ok not the end of the world…just the end of this blog. For awhile anyway. I need to take a break and re-evaluate the way I am spending my time and photography is going to have to take a backseat. So here are the pics from this last week…excluding Melon…I just never found the color of the week. I didn’t put a lot of effort into it either. But that’s that…

Day 240…Yesterday I had a lot on my mind so I went for a walk. I wanted to take pics but my heart wasn’t in it. So I kind of decided then that I was done.
I am ending on an even day…that sits well with me. 🙂
It was all kinds of windy at Fain Park yesterday and I loved the way the cattails looked in the wind…added with some urban acid it kind of looks how my mind feels…

Day 239…They remind me of those fake sugared fruits you see in bowls decorating tables…frozen grapes are a yummy summery snack!

Week #35…COULOR…I almost decided to skip this week but with an easy theme like colour…I didn’t even have to plan it. I just had to find the one I liked from the week.

Day 235…I wish this had better focus…it’s pretty hard taking a macro of your own eye…

Day 234…

August 21/22…

Last Sunday I was asked to do something interesting…

Something I have never been asked to do before. I was asked if I could do a one on one class with a little girl named Hannah. I actually met her a couple weeks before this but had no idea who she was. She walked past me at church and smiled and waved. So I smiled and waved back and she came over and gave me a big hug and walked away. I heard her mom telling her. “You need to ask before you give people hugs.” That made me smile. I can’t imagine someone NOT wanting a hug from such a happy, sweet little girl. But I’m sure it happens.
So Hannah Rose and I go to a classroom and talk and look at pictures and draw and write on the chalk board. She makes the occasional silly face at me. And I laugh a lot! She gets frustrated with me because I can’t always understand what she’s trying to tell me. She loves to write down names…her dad, mom, brothers. Her own name.
She is the sweetest little girl and I really enjoy spending that time with her. Today I was thanked for my flexibility…I need to thank them for letting me be responsible for such a sweet spirit!

Today I took my phone with me…I never take my phone with me to church. I don’t need the distraction. But today I let Hannah take some pics with it and I took some of her too. She’s quite the ham!

I wasn’t being mean…she told me to do that…lol…

Hannah loves that crayon. Last week she used it most of the time and the same this week too.

I really should be doing laundry…

Or something else…but this is much more fun.

Day 233…Inspiration…has failed me. I have really been feeling like this whole thing is more of a chore than anything else lately but I keep keepin’ on. So tonight I asked my friends on facebook for some inspiration. And I was given some ideas that I will definitely be using.

Day 232…Sometimes we all need a little sunshine…even on a cloudy day. 🙂

August 20…Cool puppy!

Day 231…

WTJ ~ TRACE THE THINGS IN YOUR BAG (OR POCKETS). LET THE LINES OVERLAP.

August 19…

Day 230…I figured the monsoons were long gone…I was wrong…

August 18…

sixty-four colors ~ brown…

Day 229…Well…we would’ve had plenty apples in a couple months had it not been for the birds eating them all and knocking them off the tree! Is there any way to keep them away?!?

Week #34…Landmark…Glassford Hill…When I looked up Landmark, Prescott Valley, AZ this is about the only thing that came up. Well it is definitely a big landmark here in PV. And I didn’t feel like looking around for something else.

August 17…

Day 228…I rarely do anything to my pics but this one just called for something more…

August 16…

I think it's bloggin' time again…

Well it was a crazy week so taking pictures was a little more hassle than normal. My 64 and 52.5 pics were taken today… I don’t like leaving them to the last day. But I am happy with them so I guess that’s what counts! So here we go…

Day 227…It was a Littlest Pet Shop invasion I tell you!! 😉
I went into the living room to look around and find some inspiration for my 365 and 64 pics and came upon this LPS parade! Too funny! The older ones still have the magnets in them…I found it quite hilarious seeing them clinging to the edge of the fireplace wall!

Week #33…Home…I had this idea in my head all week but never had the time to put it into action. Last summer when we went to visit RV I took several Polaroids. When I saw the upcoming theme “Home” for the group I decided that even though we have lived in PV since 2001, minus this last year, RV will always be home.

sixty-four colors ~ white…I had absolutely NO plan for this week. I was not finding any inspiration around me at all…the busy hectic week didn’t help. But white is white…I just wasn’t feeling it. So I walked around my living room and tried to find some…I like what I found…I am not a huge reader but I do like a good book from time to time. Even though it is taking me months to read Inkspell! :/

August 14/15…Yes I still have to throw these in here…I really need to go get a craft knife blade so I don’t get behind!

Day 226…I have been wanting to take a pic of this sign since I saw Hobo Matt’s pic awhile back and never stopped to take it. Then I noticed someone had added a new nose! It’s now three dimensional! Hard to see it in this pic though.

Day 225…Ok…thought I forgot to take a pic today. Then remembered I had taken some at the kids school. And I also remembered I had put my camera on RAW…so I overplayed with this one in Camera RAW…heh. It’s a bit too much LOL!

August 13…I like these more detailed ones…They look a lot cooler!

Day 224…Thursday evening I found out there was supposed to be a meteor shower in the wee hours of morning. I’m sure everyone knew about it but me. Sometimes I think I live in a bubble! 😉 Well it wasn’t that spectacular from my viewing point. I did see a few that were pretty cool and managed to catch one little guy.

August 12…

Day 223…Sometimes I just don’t have anything interesting to say about my pics…this would be one of them… 😀

August 11…This has to be one of my most favorite ones so far! It’s so cute and happy! I did mess up the nose but it’s still cute!

Day 222…

August 10…

Day 221…First day of school! Oh she looks so little walking across that big playground!

August 9…

Day 220…Some days it’s the last thing I do before I go to bed and then you get crap like this to look at… 😉

August 7/8…
